This style of massage is the most popular. It can combine aspects of all modalities we offer at Massage on the Green to create a session unique to your needs. Pressure can range from Swedish (light to medium) to Deep Tissue (medium to heavy) per your request.
Shiatsu stretching and acupressure are incorporated, along with warm stones and Aromatherapy.
Prenatal Massage helps increase blood circulation to the muscles. Heightening circulation will help the body flush out toxins and avoid water retention. This creates a relaxation response and aids in preparing the muscles for childbirth.
Shin Tai is an evolved and further synthesized form of shiatsu. It takes the basic principles of shiatsu and applies them to the multidimensional human energy system. Use of mechanical and energetic diagnosis is used to determine the priority of the treatment. Sessions include fascia work, stretching, acupressure, hara work, and massage. Shin Tai is usually received on a 2’’ futon mat with body cushion; recipient should wear loose comfortable clothing and socks. Suggested duration: 75 min.
A powerful therapy that works in harmony with various massage modalities. It uses water-heated metamorphic ocean stones of varying sizes to relax your body to its deepest level.
Inspired by Shizuko Yamamoto's Barefoot/Macrobiotic Shiatsu and Shiatsu techniques. With emphasis on the individual as an energy system, the therapist utilizes parallel bars on the ceiling for balance and leverage, and uses her body weight to apply pressure to the deeper layers of muscle. Deep broad pressure makes this massage modality unique; it is relaxing while also stimulating to the meridian channels and lymphatic system.
Specific techniques of massage, Shiatsu, and fascia work are used to treat the abdominal region of the body. This is the center of a person’s life force and can be the core to any discomforts or stagnancy. This massage is helpful for digestive, reproductive, and emotional imbalances, leaving you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.
A hot ginger compress is good for clearing trapped energy and stagnation. It can be applied to the hara or the lower back. A very relaxing treatment that will leave you feeling rejuvenated. Good for treating digestive or reproductive problems. Duration: 30 min.
Depending on your goals, whether stress relief, improving your energy, strengthening your immunity, or to gain better focus and clarity, a consultation will show you how to achieve a healthier diet and lifestyle.
